Blessing and Opening of the Notre Dame de Sion Learning Centre and Refurbishment of St. Patrick’s Building

On Friday 9th August Catholic College Sale celebrated the Blessing and Opening of the Notre Dame de Sion Learning Centre and Refurbishment of the St. Patrick’s Building. Some of those in attendance were Bishop Patrick O’Regan and Br Peter Carroll, fms, Honourable Darren Chester MP, Maria Kirkwood, Director of Catholic Education in Sale, Danny O’Brien, State Member for Gippsland South, Sister Patricia Watson and Sister Mary Barbuto representing Our Lady of Sion Sisters.

The Blessing was led by Bishop Patrick O’Regan.

Principal Mr Chris Randell said “We continue to build on the hard work and gifts of past generations and planning for the education of future generations.”

The completion of the Notre Dame de Sion and Refurbishment of the St. Patrick’s building is the first stage of a consolidation of both campuses. The St. Patrick’s building was originally constructed in 1922.

Principal Mr Chris Randell said “The project cost $11.1 million and we are grateful to the Federal Government for it’s $2m contribution, as well as the support of the Diocese of Sale, Marist Schools Australia, the Catholic Development Fund, and our community for ensuring a fully funded project that arrived on budget.”

Assistant Principal of Learning and Teaching Ms Cindy Foat said “This project has been undertaken with the focus of improving educational opportunities for our students and development of the whole person. Our students are our key stakeholders.”
