Da Vinci Decathlon

The Victorian Da Vinci Decathlon was a wonderful day out for some of our very talented Year 7 students. On the 22nd of May, two Sion teams, comprised of sixteen students, pitted their knowledge and skills against that of nine other teams from the Gippsland Region.

The Da Vinci Decathlon is an academic gala day hosted by Gippsland Grammar, coordinated by Methodist Ladies’ College and Camberwell Grammar School, whereby students participate in a variety of academic events. These activities are grouped by disciplines: Science, Engineering, Ideation, Art and Poetry, Maths, Cartography, Creative Producers, General knowledge, Code Breaking and English. The students responded to the challenges in various ways, either by written, oral, construction or dramatic methods.

The students involved were Ava Buckland, Bailey Telfer, Hamish MacGregor, Esra Babuc, Matilda Berns, Sienna Wynd, Madison Lam, Holly Medhurst, Lauren Mackrell, Zoe Condon, Allie Lupton, Ashlee Mierendorff, Matilda Pendergast, Molly Aeschlimann, Cara Heskey and Leah Gugliotti. The students proudly represented Catholic College Sale, and gave every effort in their activities across the day. We congratulate these students for their tenacity, creativity and admirable team working skills and look forward to the challenge again next year.
