Feast of St Marcellin Champagnat

On Wednesday 5th June Catholic College Sale celebrated the Feast of St Marcellin Champagnat with a Liturgy, assembly and our annual Footsteps Walkathon. The liturgy was led by Dean Peter Bickley and supported by Father Edwin.  Marist Brothers Greg McDonald fms and Julian Casey were also in attendance. During the Assembly, Br Greg addressed the students and staff, reflecting on Marcellin Champagnat’s life. Following, our Champagnat Medallions were presented and staff members celebrating milestones in years of service were recognised. The Champagnat Medallion Award winners were nominated by both staff and students based around the following criteria –

  • Compassionate and sensitive to the needs of others
  • Genuine, straightforward, say what they believe respectfully
  • Down to earth and uncomplicated
  • Honest and friendly with both staff/students
  • A quiet achiever
  • Making a positive difference to those around them
  • Able to influence students for good
  • A positive role model and/or example
