Year 7 Licola Camp

Last week 150 Year 7 students headed off to Licola for a fun filled 4 days. In pastoral groups we mustered the courage, perseverance and grit to push outside our comfort zones. We walked, swung climbed, danced, paddled, painted, pulled, shot, crawled, hiked, balanced, swam, flew, rode, ran, and sang our way through the week. We made new friends and hang out with some old ones. We laughed with the teachers and learnt lots about each other. The food was great and I don’t think we could say we left the dining hall hungry. The weather was great and while the winds tried to blow Sale off the map, we were safe and happy in the valley, with just a little sprinkle of rain and a few small gusts of wind. We were the first CCS group in many years if not ever to see the amazing views from the top of the hill, as we did the ‘night hike’ at dusk as the sun was setting over the hills only needing our torches once we were back on flat ground heading home. The fluoro disco and concert were fun, with 7C winning thanks to their juicy wiggle performance.

A big thank you must go out to all the adults that came on camp. Even though they were probably as exhausted as we were they were fun and still managed a smile and a laugh right until the end when we all shuffled off home tired and ready for a very long and restful sleep.
